Yesterday was our third anniversary. Wow. We realized about a month earlier that we had been together for five years and we are blessed that we have been married for three of those years. We've been married of 1095 days, had four major seasons of life and lived in six different dwellings during our marriage.
We started the day by sleeping in a bit and I awoke to a homemade breakfast of eggs, pancakes and coffee. We also made a big coffeecake kind of thing, but were too full to actually eat it. We then got dressed to go for a long hike at Elm Creek Park Reserve, to a section of the park we hadn't been in before. It was a nice long hike and our best talks are always while hiking or on long car rides (probably because they allow for our "train of thought" type conversations to run their full course to actual conclusions). We had had a really busy week leading up to it with our friends wedding and things, so it was a nice chance to just talk and hang out. But it sure was mighty hot out there and the hike could have been about a mile shorter. We were really exhausted, sweaty and probably a pit pungent, but enjoyed it nonetheless. We got to some hawks soaring and one flying right over our heads while taking off from a nearby tree. We also saw the tiniest little garter snake ever on the path. He put up a major fight, opening his tiny little pink mouth wide when we tried to pick him it. It was so cute and we just let the tough little guy be.
We decided to go see a movie and went to a bookstore to browse while we waited the hour before it started (we also used the bathroom to clean off our incredibly dirty legs from the hike). We went to see Pirates of the Caribbean at our favorite discount theater (both of us get in for $2 a piece for a matinee). From there we made a trip to Trader Joe's to pick up what we needed for a red, yellow and orange bell pepper pizza with goat cheese, a little mozzarella and whole wheat dough. It was a really good meal, though we both had funny stomach aches later from it. We watched some Felicity and went to bed. We both have the whole afternoon off today, so we will continue to enjoy our anniversary celebration.

Thanks a lot. Now I am going to have nightmares of snakes trying to bite me. Please don't be so descriptive next time.
Sorry Nicole, I should have thought about that before I wrote :(
Congrats on 3 years!
